Discworld! Terry Pratchett’s extensive, beloved fantasy series spans over forty novels, and we’ve just read the first one! The Colour of Magic is a whimsical adventure following Rincewind and Twoflower across the Disc and over the brim. Today, we’re going to be talking about this entry into Discworld. I’ll give my thoughts on it, then I’ll read out and discuss some thoughts I received from other readers. After that, we’ll read the second book in the series to prepare for our subsequent discussion, and I’ll give dates for that coming up shortly.

Today, I’m excited to talk about the second book in John Gwynne’s Bloodsworn Saga: The Hunger of the Gods. This epic fantasy story is filled with all sorts of things to love and I’m so ready to give my thoughts on it, so let’s dive right into the review.

People idolize characters like Breaking Bad’s Walter White, The Burning’s Tau, or How I Met Your Mother’s Ted Mosby. Why do we idolize these characters, and why is it wrong to do so? What’s the difference between loving a character and idolizing one?

So I thought to myself: Self, why don't I make a post recommending books to help ensnare readers into wanton devotion to the fantasy genre? Here I am, doing just that! I’m going to do a series of posts like this, targeting various reading levels. In today’s post, I’m going to focus on very young readers (or completely illiterate humans who can barely keep their heads upright, let alone pass a simple Hooked on Phonics flash card test).

It’s time to have a casual chat and a simple bookshelf rearrangement again! It’s been quite a while since I last did my bookshelf rearrangement, which was for my summer colors. Now, I’m looking at a more autumnal vibe. I’m thinking purples, oranges, and browns. But don’t worry, this isn’t just a post about rearranging my shelves. I will use this time to chat casually about things I’m doing and a few upcoming projects.
